Today, after living in Singapore for over 13 months, I took my first public bus ride home from the office. They all said it was easy. A colleague even taught me to get out on to the bus stop without walking on the main road. And from my office building to the bus stop, it took all but 5 minutes. I was impressed! This was at 6:05pm.
Much to my dismay, the bus arrived 20 minutes later and it was jampacked. I was standing almost the entire time and the 5-km drive to my house from the office took a good 35 minutes!
Staff bus to home = 25-30mins; Public bus to home = 60 mins.
Never again.
